Love these windswept warriors.
This is a single shot duo-toned version of a colour panny subbed a while ago...I printed this off as a 30x20",framed it and gave it to my Bro & sis-in-law as a crimbo gift and I was very pleased how it looked :eager:

I used Photobox [link] and recommend to anyone in the UK,price$ were very sound too.

Dedicated to two of my US Photo shooting Cousins on here,a right pair of classy Gents:
Mr. :icondennischunga: & Mr. :icongoodfoot42: who both enjoy a solo tree session now `n again :salute:

Jonatahn is a great photographer and i have de privilege of saw is photos and all his work because he is my friend from long time ago. All photos from him are an inspiration for everybody that loves photographs. I am trying to comment some one but he not allowed, so today here i am, looking to this fantastico landscape and thinking about how perfect it is. We can feel the wind in our face, we can se the strenght of the tree and the magnificence of the sky. This photo makes me have hope in future, to see this lone tree holding on the vagaries of life. Thank you Jonathan

One of my favorite recent shots from one of my favorite people here on dA. Having that said, I hope you are ready for my critique.

In your artist comment you said that this is a single shot version of the 3 shot panorama you have submitted before. While the two shots are fantastic individually, some aspects are so similar that comparing the two shots in this critique will be inevitable.

To begin with the composition, I have to say that you have once again been so kind to share your brilliant vision with the rest of the world. The mixture of the cloud formation, the curvy landscape, the bare bedrock on the foreground and the distinctive tree gives this shot a lot of points of interest.

The use of ultra wide angle works particularly well as it pulls the 4 ingredients mentioned above towards the corners. This forces the viewer to set his sight on the bright horizon and the beautifully lit landscape in the distance.

The post process is done exactly in a way to be expected or rather demanded from you, like a true master. The use of the dark shadows accentuates the elements you want the viewers to look at. It seems as if the mood seems a bit sad, but the burning horizon is almost trying to tell me that the road ahead of you is bright and that you must endeavor to reach the light.

As mentioned before, I love the use of 10mm. I also love the use of small aperture to make this shot very sharp and crisp. The only very small negative point about the use of 10mm is that it distorts the corner a bit, while (and here's the comparison) in the 3 shot pano it doesn't bother me as much. Maybe it's because of the lush green and overall vividness of the pano that hides the distortion better. I don't know, but that is about the only negative thing I can think of and it isn't even in your own control.

I shouldn't punish you for it, but it does hurt the image a tiny little bit. All in all Jon, the day I get as good and consistent as you is the day I will call myself a photographer. Until that day, there will always be a master and there will always be a pupil. I think we both know our roles ;)

First off I love your choice of duo-tone, since it makes this landscape shot a story teller.
It is wonderful how you were able to capture the different structure qualities between limestone, scruffy grass, smooth hills and rough tree.
Speaking of which, this tree is the storyteller in the photo for me. I love how subtly you brought me to this conclusion: the slope in the foreground points to the tree, the clouds behind the tree seem to funnel through its shape, its position and the choice of the frame gives the impression that all what we see seems to emanate from its roots.
